Alliums are awesome. They belong to the lily family, the same family as garlic, leeks, and chives. The onion ( an Allium vegetable) is loaded with sulfides, sulfoxides, and other sulfur compounds very similar to garlic. The sulfoxides are primarily responsible for the onion flavor and produce the eye-irritating effects that induce tearing.

Tell the FDA to Label GMO Salmon!

In 9 days the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is planning to approve genetically modified salmon for sale to the public. This is the first genetically engineered animal on supermarket shelves in the U.S. The salmon has been engineered to produce hormones year round that cause the fish to grow at twice it’s natural rate.
